This Cookie Policy explains what sentinely.eu and app.sentinely.eu store in your browser, and how you can control it. It complements our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that the sites you visit store on your device. Some are necessary for a site to work; others are placed only if you agree to them.
Your choice comes first
No statistics cookie is placed before you agree. On your first visit a banner asks you what you want. Until you answer, this site stores nothing at all: the statistics script is not loaded, not even in the background, and no request leaves your browser towards it.
Refusing is exactly as easy as accepting — one button, side by side, same size. If you refuse, nothing is loaded and nothing more is asked of you. You can change your mind at any time through Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page.
What is stored, and when
Once you have made a choice, one cookie of ours records it, so we do not ask again:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
sntly_consent | Remembers your cookie choice | 12 months | Sentinely (first party) |
Only if you accept statistics, our Matomo instance sets these:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
_pk_id.* | Tells one visitor from another | 13 months | Purple IT (self-hosted) |
_pk_ses.* | Groups the requests of one visit together | 30 minutes | Purple IT (self-hosted) |
If you refuse, none of the Matomo cookies is ever written.
Separately from cookies, your light or dark theme choice is kept in your browser's local storage under theme. It never leaves your device and is not sent with any request. Clearing your browsing data removes it.
Statistics: Matomo, and we host it ourselves
We use Matomo to understand which pages are read and how people arrive at them. It runs on our own infrastructure at analytics.purpletech.it: the statistics it collects reach no third party, because Matomo is software we operate, not a service we send your data to. Nothing about your visit is sold, shared or used to build an advertising profile.
We ask for your consent all the same. These are statistics cookies, not technical ones, and we would rather ask than assume.
The one third-party script: the check on our forms
The contact form and the affiliate form load Cloudflare Turnstile, the check that tells a person apart from an automated script. It runs on those two pages only, for the sole purpose of letting the form be submitted, and it is not a statistics or advertising tool: it measures nothing about you and builds no profile. Without it the forms would be filled by bots within days, so it is a security measure needed to deliver a service you asked for — which is why it does not require consent.
Turnstile is provided by Cloudflare, Inc., which also delivers this website.
The record of your choice
When you choose, we keep a record of it: a random identifier (the same one held in the sntly_consent cookie), the choice itself, the version of this policy, the moment, your browser identification, and a keyed hash of your IP address — never the address itself. We keep it for 24 months, because art. 7(1) GDPR requires the controller to be able to demonstrate that consent was given. This record is never used to profile you and is never linked to advertising.
The application
app.sentinely.eu — the product you sign in to — uses only technical cookies: the ones that keep you signed in and remember your preferences. It carries no statistics or advertising cookie and loads no third-party tracking script, which is why it shows no banner: there is nothing there to consent to. Technical cookies require no consent (art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code, and its European equivalent, exempt them), but they do require that we tell you they exist — which is what this section does.
How to control what is stored
Use Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page to change or withdraw your choice. Withdrawing deletes the statistics cookies we know of and reloads the page, so that a script already running is actually stopped — a withdrawal that leaves it running would not be one.
Every browser also lets you inspect, delete and block cookies and local storage on your own.
